With 12 resorts in 2 countries, 650 km of pistes the Portes du Soleil offers an unrivalled variety of superb skiing and snowboarding at all levels. There is plenty of space and wide slopes for beginners, cruising runs for intermediates that enjoy travelling long distances and through different resorts and exciting and challenging off-piste skiing for the more advanced skiers.

The village of Chatel is perfectly situated in a central location in the fantastic alpine mountains on the main Portes du Soleil circuit. It is a wonderful holiday resort that has retained its traditional Savoie charm, not a high rise in sight!

The slopes around La Chapelle d’Abondance and Chatel offer a mix of open and wooded slopes, for all ages and abilities. With easy access to snow guaranteed mecca of Avoriaz, Morzine and the Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil ski area, it is an extremely convenient location. Plus we also provide a chauffeur service to and from the slopes!

Winter activities not only include skiing and snowboarding, but also cross country skiing, snow shoeing, ice skating and much more! The village centre of Chatel also offers great shopping, fantastic produce and of course an array of lively bars for après-ski.
